Easy Ways You Can Be A Better Dog Owner

Many people think that raising a dog is a hard task to do. It's not that hard, especially if you have any idea of what to do. All you need is knowledge of dogs to guide you. Luckily the following article contains a set of tips that can assit you in the dog raising process.

If you notice your dog gets dry skin in the winter, you probably need to brush him or her more often. Doing so will get rid of old fur and help get their oil glands working properly. Try brushing once in the morning and once in the evening to see if it makes a difference for your pet.

Research a particular breed of dog you may be interested in before bringing him home. Lots of people make the mistake of falling in love with a type of dog, then find out later that the animal isn't really for them. Chihuahuas, for example, are a trendy type, but very difficult to fully potty train, especially in colder climates!

When preparing to groom your pet, start the session off on the right foot by helping your dog relax. Spend a few minutes simply petting him, starting with the head and then rubbing the back, paws, belly and even tail. Once you feel your dog is happy and content, begin grooming him.

The kind of leash you use when walking your dog is very important. A small leash that would fit a small dog, like a chihuahua, is not going to fit a Rottweiler or pit bull. Get a leash that will fit your dog comfortably but also provided them with safety.

Now that you've read this article, does it seem easier to raise a dog than before? Dogs are smart creatures, but isn't necessarily hard to take care of them. Just be patient with them, give them love, and exercise what you know. All of the dog tips you've seen will come in handy.

I have a rottie named Maxine she is the most loved dog we ever had. She is sooo protective over me that if anyone comes in the house that she don't know or like she puts herself between me and that person, and she lays with me when I take nap and wont even let my son sneak in on me when im asleep,, she loves her family and stays up all night and watches u while we sleep, she sleeps during the day when we are awake, usually at our feet or on the couch next to one of us..... she is my baby I couldn't imagine life without my lil angeldog by my side...... rotties are true work dogs and very protective over their familes...... the best bred dog I ever had.....

This is a true story that I'm going to share to all of you. I had a Rotty named Supee she was a pure breed German rottweiler unfortunately she passed away with a cancer recently. one day I had a dream that's I was falling in my sleep and I still remember clearly that I saw her barking real loud at me and all of a sudden I woke up from a bad dream that maybe could've ended my life. I know there's a lot of people that passed away while sleeping and nobody can explain how it's possible some say stroke is the cause. Well most people say that dogs doesn't have a soul and I don't believe that, in my experience my Supee had a soul and she saved me from a bad dream. Until now she will always be in my heart, RIP Supee you will always be remembered.

I love Rottweilers, thats the only dog we were allowed to have as kids. My father trained them, when we were younger living in Detroit we had 3 of them. I remember one day coming home from school to find our window was broke and our dogs had the intruder cornered in our kitchen on the table. They had his their all day. Hahaha. I still own a Rottweiler to this day.

My love my rottweiler Achilles, what an amazing breed I got Achilles the day I had my first chemotherapy. He went to every session, slept with me every night to be close so to comfort when I was in screaming pain many times having me laugh thru my tears. He is 16 months now and I'm convinced that the love of my baby boy is the cure for my cancer. I'm cancer free for three days now.
